Scientific Consultants in Cognitive Psychology, Human Sleep and Fatigue Physiology, and/or Ergonomics and Human Factors
The leading international research and consulting firm on fatigue risk management in 24/7 shiftwork operations seeks accomplished scientists to join our expert team in the investigation and forensic analysis of transportation and industrial human error accidents, and help to develop empirically based opinions regarding the likelihood of human error, sleep deprivation, sleep disorders and/or human fatigue as a contributory factor to human error incidents.
Applicants must have a Ph.D. or its equivalent with a strong record of peer-reviewed published scientific research and teaching in the area of sleep, fatigue, circadian physiology and/or performance or cognitive or social psychology, neuroscience, human factors or a related field. The ideal candidates will have strong and effective oral and writing presentation skills, excellent and creative problem solving ability, and be equally comfortable analyzing data and explaining the results and/or conclusory opinions to scientific as well as non-scientific audiences. We are looking for self-starters who are able to work with accuracy under pressure and/or firm deadlines.
You will be responsible for analyzing human performance related to a wide variety of scenarios involving transportation and occupational work. Additional responsibilities will include: managing a range of activities that investigate operator fatigue in accidents; developing client contacts; working on multi-disciplinary projects; data processing, and other project support; and, conducting research to obtain and review technical data, scientific literature, and standards.
